welcome to my website! i'm still a work in progress :)
this is a personalised space to store my interests
I had noticed an uptick in irrational frustration and sadness around the time of the pandemic that was genuinely affecting how I felt day to day. It seemed insane that a handful of people and situations, whom I had no association with outside of a 30 second video or a couple of sentences, could cause such agitation.
The dilema is that I very much enjoy the internet; I spent the majority of my teen years online in the advent of social media and was already inclined towards media as special interests from a young age. I was the horse girl that read books about dragons instead of socialising duirng school breaks. Fortunately for me, there were other girls with Nintendos that hung out on the same wall, and of course I was going to love Pokemon.
The conecpt of fandom really got its claws into me from the late 00s to mid-10s but while fandom is infamous for its discourse, I mainly ate popcorn in the bleachers from a safe distance. This meant that while I had an appreciation for how crazy internet people can be, exposure was limited. This has obviously changed with the advent of The Algorithm. Now I have no real say in what I do or don't see.
Hence, the birth of this neocities! I have always been fascinated by "old-school" internet, so this felt like a natural evolution! This is intended to be a personal space and tool, so please forgive any areas that aren't pleasing to look at while I work on them.
I also fancy myself as an ameteur fandom archivist, particulalry of fanfic, so my findings can be found on here. I will link to originals where I can, but I might directly host copies of fics I really can't find elsewhere.
